Scared pets hide and go quiet. They can't hide their body heat. We fly a thermal camera over the area day or night, spot the warm signature, and guide you right to them.
Prefer to text? Text us a photo of your pet and where they were last seen.
Tell us about your pet and where they were last seen. Send a photo if you can. We answer 24/7.
We come to you and search yards, fields, woods and ditches from the air, where people on foot can't see.
When we spot a heat signature, we talk you in by phone so you can approach calmly and bring them home.
A frightened dog or cat often won't come when called, even for family. They tuck under decks, into brush and along creek beds. A thermal camera sees the heat of a living animal through the dark, which is why night is often the best time to search.
Cool ground makes a pet's warmth stand out clearly.
One flight can check areas that would take hours on foot.
We search from a distance, so we don't chase or scare them further.
Not sure if you're in range? Call anyway. If we can get there, we will.
A low search fee gets us in the air fast. The found fee keeps us fully focused on one goal: bringing your pet home. If we don't find them, you never pay it.
"Found" means we've confirmed it's your pet on camera and guided you to them.

I live in Homer Glen and I'm an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot. I started Southland Thermal because scared pets hide and go quiet, and searching on foot, especially at night, walks right past them.
When you call, you talk to me, and I'm the one flying your search. I'll be honest about what thermal can and can't do, and I'll keep you updated the whole time.
The fastest way to reach us is a call or text to 708-414-0285. You can also send the details here and we'll call you back.
Don't chase or call loudly. Scared pets often run further.
Leave a worn piece of your clothing and some water near where they went missing.
Check close hiding spots: under decks, porches, sheds and parked cars.
We'll call you back shortly at the number you gave us. If your pet was just seen or it's urgent, call or text 708-414-0285 now. It's the fastest way to reach us.
We answer 24/7 and head out as quickly as we can. Call and we'll give you an arrival time on the phone.
Yes. We fly high and quietly, far enough away that your pet won't be startled into running further.
Thermal sees body heat, not through solid objects. It works best in open yards, fields, tree lines and brush. A pet hiding under a deck, inside a shed or under a car may be hidden from the camera, so we'll point out spots worth checking by hand. It also works best at night and in the early morning, when the ground is cool and a pet's warmth stands out.
We keep the camera on them and guide you there by phone, step by step. We don't chase or try to catch your pet. A familiar voice works better than a stranger. Once you can see them and confirm it's your pet, that counts as found.
You pay the search fee and any extra hours you approved, and that's it. The found fee is only charged if we find your pet. We'll also tell you what we saw, which areas we cleared, and where we think your pet may be heading, so your search on foot can focus on the right spots.
We accept card, Zelle or cash. The search fee is due when the search starts, and any extra hours and the found fee are due at the end.
We can't fly in heavy rain, snow or strong wind. If conditions aren't safe, we'll tell you right away and plan the first safe window.
Our pilot is FAA Part 107 certified, and we follow FAA rules on every flight and check airspace before we launch. Some areas near airports or in forest preserves have limits, and we'll let you know if that applies.
We fly from public spots or your property, and we only go onto someone's land with their permission. We use the camera to look for your pet, not at people, and we don't keep footage of anyone's home.
